Mid Century Modern Tropical Dream

The project finalies into an amazing transformation of spaces, ultimately leading to a tropical ambiance with a modern twist.
Much Ado for A Vista View
Much Ado About a Vineyard View, set on top of a hill in northern Sonoma County; a tale of construction which is nearly ruined by roofline design and ducting, rocked with challenges of a sloping site, a vista steep with controversial vineyard paths. The home explores portals of modernism, survives numerous shading mishaps and evolves into a terrace with a fabulous vista view.
Arches from Ashes
The surprising uplifting design story after fire torn tragedy strikes. A well-loved home destroyed by wild fires takes surprising turn out of the ashes to become better than it ever was before. The design explores themes and challenges such as to arch or not to arch, beams or no beams, and the complexity of deco tiles, Chihuly glass and Moroccan treasures found from world travels, culminating in a beautiful ending.
The Architect
Banned due to offensive language despite clearly intentional satirical nature
A Tale of Two Ceilings
Open Up and Out to welcome the sea while respecting the existing vibe.
Feedback from clients & contractors
When my husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen, we knew we needed someone to help with designing the best possible solutions for our space. We were given Julie’s name by someone who was thrilled with the design of her kitchen and couldn’t recommend Julie enough.
At our initial meeting, Julie immediately put us at ease as she completely listened to our thoughts and ideas. Even more importantly, we found her to be extremely creative and innovative with ideas that we hadn’t even realized were possible. Julie also looked at other areas of our home and gave wonderful suggestions about how we could create more of the look that we want to improve and update our 1980’s home.
Julie is very organized and knowledgeable about design. She reached out to contractors for us, brought in samples for us to visualize, and shared ideas with us through Pinterest. We love the three-dimensional layout of the kitchen of our dreams that Julie designed.
We look forward to posting pictures when our project is completed.
We highly recommend Julie Anne Overholt for any design needs.
This morning when I saw this and opened the file, it was just glorious! You are so talented and I really appreciate the creativity you bring to the project and then how effectively you present your ideas for change both with the materials and with the presentation on site yesterday. You are such an amazing asset to the entire project and I can’t imagine now how to ever do a house project without you at the helm! You have shown a breadth and depth of understanding of materials, people and engineering which is dazzling. Thank you again for making this whole house so much better and more beautifully creative while solving the problems that come up and keeping in mind sensitivity to budget, timing and our aging in place requirements. I know it’s a huge juggling act you manage so graciously and with tireless good humor and efficiency.
